CTE Works! Summit | November 1-2, 2017 | Crown Plaza AiRE, Bloomington, MN

The CTE Works! Summit is an annual conference sponsored by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the Minnesota Department of Education. This influential event brings together 400+ high school and college educators from academic and technical fields with workforce and community partners who provide Minnesotans the skills they need to succeed.

Secondary and postsecondary teachers/faculty and administrators have multiple professional development, business meetings, and social events to choose from on Wednesday, November 1.


Inspiring Students to Touch the Sky

Meet pilot and educator Captain Barrington Irving, one of the youngest people to fly solo around the world. Today, the Captain uses his Flying Classroom to offers hands-on, STEM-based programs and career guidance to middle and high school students and help teachers introduce STEM+ into CTE and other programs.

This year’s Summit features breakout sessions lead by national leaders from ACTE and Advance CTE. Plus, our afternoon keynote session focuses on dynamic business leaders sharing their perspectives on the importance of work-based learning and ways to encourage students to prepare for and strive for high-demand careers.
